Flash
For the last couple of weeks we have been using adobe flash in labs and attempting to get to grips with the technology. It looks like Flash could possibly be even more “finicky” than Dreamweaver. I used Flash during my undergraduate degree and it took a solid week of concentrating only on flash for me to begin to understand how an animation is created. I eventually became familiar with the frames timelines and layers etc and once I did I was able to create quite a detailed animation. Like Dreamweaver though, one wrong move led to the complete disintegration of my animation which made the whole process quite tedious.
For my animation I created a timeline of Michael Jackson’s life. One frame involved the creation of a moving figure doing the “moonwalk” across the screen. During this process I found the following video really helpful in creating fluidity in the character’s movements.
Wow, that is amazing Susan. I am really apprehensive about Flash though it has all the potential to be a disaster movie rather than an animation ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same frame of mind John but hopefully it will go smoothly enough! Even the terminology used can be confusing....tweens etc. Between the lab sheets and these tutorials I reckon we should be safe enough.
ReplyDeleteI'm in same boat, sure at least we can call on Susans if we get stuck. :-) I'm sure we will all get there in the end, I'm sure it will be fine.
ReplyDeleteShow no fear John, Flash can smell fear!!!
YouTube is always helpful for tutorials and has plenty to chose from.
I know that there are lots of great tutorials out there and I have found plenty myself. However for this assignment we are required to have an organised timeline. When I was doing my Flash assignment last year I was afraid to touch my timeline and it truly was a maze of motion tweens and all sorts. I think I had the same experience as you Susan. Everything was working perfectly for me towards the end and then I decided to add one more feature which messed everything up.... Im keeping my fingers and toes crossed for this assignment....
